    One attempt that can be done to improve teacher quality Indonesian language is by developing the multiple intelligences that Howard Gardner has been triggered.
    Gardner defines intelligence as the ability to solve problems and produce new products in a diverse setting and in real situations (1983, 1993).A capability may be called intelligent if showing a person’s proficiency and skills to solve problems and difficulties that are found in his life.
    Furthermore, it can also create a new product, and can even create the next issue that allows the development of new knowledge. Thus there is an element of knowledge and expertise. Terms ability is universal. Ability is basically a biological element because a person’s brain is not something that happens because of the exercise. Capability has been around since the birth even though the education can be developed.

    The human ability have possession of eight criteria that are often used to determine whether it is an intelligence capability.(Gardner in Suparno, 22 – 25) The criteria are as follows.

    (1) Isolated in certain parts of the brain. Capabilities that are autonomous, independent of other abilities, isolated from the others. If that ability is lost due to brain damage, the damage will not affect other capabilities.

    (2) ability was independent. Ability in a person independent of each other, not closely related so it can be considered as a stand-alone intelligence.

    (3) Contains a special operations unit. Contain elements of intelligence special operations unit to react to the input coming.Every intelligence contains certain operating keterampikan are different from each and with certain operating skills that a person can express his ability in dealing with problems.

    Howard Gardner of Manchester Instituite of Technology (MIT) psychologists found that in man there is a range of intelligence, known by the name of multiple intelligences (multiple intelligences, MI). Gardner’s research results

    (In Lazier, 1991; Armstrong, 2002) showed that MI consists of at least nine kinds of intelligence. The nine kinds of intelligence that is as follows.

    (1) Intelligence verbal / language (verbal / linguistic intelligence, that intelligence is related to the mastery of vocabulary or language spoken or written, and widely, communication. This intelligence describes the ability to use clear language through reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

    (2) Intelligence logical / mathematical (logical / mathematical intelligence), which is closely related to intelligence deduktif-induktif/beralasan thinking, numeracy, and abstract thinking patterns. Characteristic variety of this intelligence is the ability to solve abstract problems and understand the causal relationship.

    (3) Intelligence visual / spatial (visual / spatial intelligence), which is intelligence with regard to the pictures. This intelligence is the ability to perceive a visual world accurately, to form the ability to use his vision and ability to visualize objects, including the ability to mengkreasi imaji-mental/merlukis.

    (4) Intelligence body / sense of touch (body / kinesthetic intelligence), that intelligence relating to the physical motion (motion of the body and limbs); including motor nerves of the brain that controls movement of the body and limbs;

    (5) Intelligence musical / rhythmic (musical / rhythmic intelligence), that intelligence is related to the tone, rhythm, pitch patterns, and color tone. This intelligence is a level of sensitivity to sound patterns and the ability to respond emotionally to music.
    (6) interpersonal intelligence (interpersonal intelligence) is the intelligence associated with social understanding. Intelligence is a capacity to relate to others through reading a variety of moods, temperaments, motivations, and goals of others.
    (7) Intrapersonal intelligence (intrapersonal intelligence) is the intelligence with regard to self-knowledge. Feature of this intelligence is the ability to understand oneself and the ability to take responsibility for self-concept, attitudes behaviors, feelings, and actions taken.

    (8) Naturalist intelligence (naturalist intelligence) is the intelligence related to proficiency in recognizing and classifying many species, flora and fauna in one’s environment.

    (9) Intelligence existential (existential intelligence), that intelligence is related to the ability to put themselves in the farthest reach of the cosmos-infinite and put yourself in the most existential of human traits.
